David Eastmond Composer, Music Educator

I write solo, chamber, choir, and orchestral/band music.

I like powerful melodies, rich textures, and writing that connects with performers and audiences alike.

My compositions aim to evoke emotion and tell a story through music.

About Me

David Eastmond is a Canadian composer whose work reflects a deep connection to wind band music and accessible, melody-focused writing.

His pieces have been performed by ensembles across North America, including the premiere of Saugeen Shores Overture by the Southampton Festival Winds.

David studied clarinet with Peter Stoll and composition with Chan Ka Nin, John Hawkins, and Christos Hatzis at the University of Toronto, where he also focused on music education.

Today, he pairs his creative practice with a career in full‑stack software development.
